What is Windows Server?

A Windows Server refers to any type of server instance, which is installed, operated and managed by any of the Windows Server family of operating systems. Windows server offers the same features, capabilities and operating mechanism of a standard server operating system and is based on the Windows NT architecture. It is a well equipped server, that is capable of providing server-oriented services including the ability to host a website, resource management, user management, security and authorization, messaging and other server-focused services.
