Domain name is indispensable to establish your existence in the World Wide Web. However, how long can the domain name be is a usual topic of discussion. Although you can find domain name consisting of not less than 256 characters, but Top-Level Domains (TLDs) including .COM, .NET, and .ORG can accommodate a maximum of 67 characters. In fact, domain names with fewer characters are easy to remember rather than the long tail name.
It is noteworthy to mention that domain names comprise of numbers, alphabets and dashes are legitimate and acceptable. Make sure to avoid using dash (-) in the start or end of the domain name as Top-Level Domains don’t entertain domain names start or end with symbols. In fact, you are not liable to use certain characters in your domain name such as ( ! @#$%&? ~: _).
