How to Create a Slideshow in WordPress?

Let’s walk through the steps of creating a slideshow in WordPress:

  1. Install WordPress Slideshow Plugin

WordPress is equipped with a wide range of plugins that can help you create a slideshow. Soliloquy, Slider Revolution, and MetaSlider are popular slideshow plugins. In this post, we will discuss the steps to create a slideshow using the MetaSlider plugin.

Step 2:  Navigate to the “Plugin” in your WordPress dashboard

Step 2: Click on “Add New”

Step 3: Type “MetaSlider” in the search bar

Step 4: Click on “Install Now”

Step 5: After the plugin is installed, click on “Activate”

  1. Create New Slideshow

Once the plugin is installed and activated, start creating new slideshows. 

Step 1:  Go to the “MetaSlider” section in your WordPress dashboard.

Step 2: Click on “Create Slider”

Step 3: Select the type of slideshow you want to create.

MetaSlider offers four types of slideshows: Flex Slider, Nivo Slider, Responsive Slider, and Coin Slider. Pick the one that caters to your needs. 

  1. Add Images

Once you decide on the slideshow type you want, start adding images. 

Step 2: Click on “Add image”

Step 2: Create a new page or post where you want to display the slideshow

Step 3: Paste the shortcode into the editor

Step 4: Save it

Step 5: View to see your slideshow in action

  • Customize the Slideshow

With the help of CSS, you can customize the slideshow. 

Step 1:  Go to the “Custom CSS” in the MetaSlider

Step 2: Enter your custom CSS

With the custom CSS, you can change the background color of the slideshow, add borders and even change the font style and size of the captions.
