Also, remember that your users’ privacy should definitely be one of the most crucial parts of your business. And you must pay keen attention to it.

In fact, in many countries, it is a rule for the website to declare the information they collect from the user every time they use the website. And, this is exactly what the privacy policy page is for!

Looking at the importance of the privacy page, there are various tools that you can use to create a privacy policy. But you can also create a privacy policy page within your WordPress site.

How can you add a privacy policy page in WordPress?

There is no denying that WordPress comes with extensive features. One of those beneficial features includes creating a privacy policy page using WordPress. It also provides you with a generic template, which you can use for your privacy policy page.

Here are the steps involved in creating a privacy policy page in WordPress:

After you log in to your WordPress, go to the settings and choose the Privacy page. After clicking on the page, you will notice that the page already has draft content.

Now you will notice two choices:

  1. An option to create a new page
  2. Use the page as it is.

When you choose to create a new page, you will notice that WordPress takes you to the new page where you can make the changes and make it as per your need.

In case you have decided to use the default page, then you can click on the edit page to make the new amendments. For more understanding, you can go through the instructions page to make edits and change the section.

Fill in the relevant details in each section. As soon as you click Edit, you’ll arrive at a Block Editor page where you can customize your privacy policy framework.

You’ll notice that some sections already have a heading while others lack one entirely. Before publishing a page, make sure that all sections are accurate.

To fill out the blank sections, provide your users with the relevant information. This article cannot address the exact wording, though every site offers guides to help you complete each section.

The final step is to publish and display your changes in WordPress once your privacy policy is complete.

Ensure that your Privacy Policy Page is visible within WordPress

It is important to decide where to place the link first. An area on your site common to all pages should include a link to your privacy policy. A footer would be ideal.

Within WordPress, navigate to Appearance > Menus. If you already have a footer menu, you can select it or click Create a new menu:

You can then name your menu and choose a location for its display. The default theme of Twenty Twenty-One permits us to select the Secondary menu location before clicking the Create Menu button.

from the Pages > View All menu, select the privacy policy page. If you can’t see your page in the list, you may need to publish it.

In the final steps, click Save Menu after expanding the menu item and changing its navigation label if necessary.

Make sure the link on the front end is visible and functional before you call it a day. Depending on the settings, wording, and placement of your privacy policy, you may need to make adjustments.
