How to host a website?- Do it using these Simple Steps

If you have already bought a domain, you can use it. Else there are many websites that you can use to buy a domain, which include Godaddy.com and namecheap.com, etc. Make sure the domain you pick is short and reflects your business idea perfectly. Remember, you will be using the domain name for a long time, so pick wisely. 

While buying the domain, pay attention to the number of years for registration. By default, the number of years of registration will be 2 years. So, if you wish you can change it to 1 year. 

After the registration for the domain is complete, you can move on to the next step, which is to pick a hosting service. 

Step 2:

Pick the Web Hosting 

There are many reliable hosting services providers who can help you with the hosting services. All you need to do is to pick the hosting provider who can provide you with the plan that perfectly meets your business needs. You can start with the baby plan and move to the business plan if required. 

They will ask for your domain and that will be the one you got from the domain seller. 

Step 3:

Point Your Domain

After you select the hosting plan you want from a reliable service provider,  you will get the access information of your account in your mail. Sometimes it can take a day or two for you to get the information. Although, some providers nowadays send it quickly. 

In this email, you will find your “Domain Name Server” information. It will look similar to this- NS1.HOSTMONSTER.COM and NS2.HOSTMONSTER.COM. It’s the hosting account’s online address. To get your website working, you will need to change the name servers of your domain. 

1. For this step, you need to go to your domain panel. 
2. Fill in your registered email address and password. 
3. Click on the domain name.
4. You will notice a domain registration section, click on the Name Server options. 
5. Click on the existing name server and replace it with the one given by your current web host and update the name server. 

Note: You can also take the help of a hosting provider to point your domain. 

Step 4:

Build the Website

For building a website, you will come across various platforms and websites, which you can use to create your own website. You can even hire a website developer to build a website for you. It might cost you a bit more than building it using any other platform. Although, you can always consider using WordPress.
